Followers module now available

Followers is an ExpressionEngine module to provide a ‘friend’ facility enabling your site’s members to create relationships between each other.

Features include:

  • Members can add other members to their list of friends
  • Members can remove other members from their list of friends
  • Relationships are one-way (ie, if A follows B, B does not automatically follow A)
  • Members can add protected content that only people on their friends list can access

In a ‘break from the norm’ there is a small charge for this module.

Hi, does the module provide links (in the protected area) to posts a member may have made and what can a member put in the protected area?

Thinking of using this on a newspaper site to make it a bit more social.

Hi Lee,

You should be able to do what you are after. The module allows you to create the relationships - what you do with them then depends on ExpressionEngine.

The protected area is simply a pair of tags that can wrap any content you wish. The protected content is shown to friends, but hidden to others.
