Safari 3 beta launched for OS X and Window

As you have no doubt heard by now, the Safari 3 Public Beta is now available for OS X and (surprise!) for Windows XP and Vista.

I find Safari a great little web browser (even if Firefox with Firebug trump it for web development), so this is great news. The beta runs without any trouble on my work PC running Windows 2000 (despite it being advertised as XP or Vista only) and it is quick and good to look at.

Get the Debug menu running on Windows by editing (in my case):

C:\Documents and Settings\aweaver\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari\Preferences.plist

and adding:

<key>IncludeDebugMenu</key>
<true //>

No sign of the Web Inspector on Windows yet, though.

I totally agree, safari 3 is actually pretty good. I think apple made a good job, i tried it on windows and i am pleased with the results. The recipe for success for apple might be with a browser that has a very good html performance. Oh well, just some food for though, i still think firefox is amazing :)
