XML import parse errors

Andrew,

This is a file a client aims to import. (demo data)

https://campusce.zendesk.com/attachments/token/HtciziWKIyBHM271wfOYZTVXe/?name=DemoData.xml

My assumption is the XML data path would be

/Items/Class

Does case or trailing slashes matter?

The XML is valid, according to one tool I use. Datagrab on EE5 is giving me these errors:

Error: Cannot parse the XML from file/url: DemoData.xml

Error: Cannot find any data. Is the XML path correct?

I assume it sees the file, and the problem lies with the XML itself.

It looks to me like you have the right XML path. Have you tried removing the <Category></Category> data and trying it then?

Are you trying to access a file or a url?

If you’re trying to access a file, do so like this: file://PATH_GOES_HERE/DEMODATA.xml

If you’re trying to access the file via a url, just provide the url.

allow_url_fopen probably needs to be turned on on your server also.

Hi,

Really sorry for the slow responses at the moment - I currently have a family illness so am not online as much as usual.

I think your url redirects to the XML so DataGrab is not getting to see the real data file. I tried:

curl https://campusce.zendesk.com/attachments/token/HtciziWKIyBHM271wfOYZTVXe/?name=DemoData.xml

and it returned:

<html><body>You are being <a href="https://p20.zdusercontent.com/attachment/21124/HtciziWKIyBHM271wfOYZTVXe?token=eyJhbGciOiJkaXIiLCJlbmMiOiJBMTI4Q0JDLUhTMjU2In0..UnnrX6t2Y4VKnqgV7ggj8Q.9SaHEqdGxlzmnLDlKxaZPC1cAYN8Y4arR9U6DSmGKj33GhZvRFqHDgMqZ_810uc7_c6xLtFa5IMyx8xqvDoEB9z0hembBxjm4Vbw7wkWD0hnecryvCnHO3wXcDxJ-yA13_vQxeT8D_ymDk3DTCzUO3OL0vkvarV6g8NYaMLYKo5rHy_cz4CrNKvKpVor3X4ZI4lbUKQwRPIa5Awg_sGXm2bbsgCPn3b11vnGrYXSPhMCgWWqM0OVS2IKExql7jN1efkg3yeMSI0OvOKxlHcICA.Zoi0VYLtbI6F4fHz1wDM6w">redirected</a>.</body></html>

If I use the url in that file:

https://p20.zdusercontent.com/attachment/21124/HtciziWKIyBHM271wfOYZTVXe?token=eyJhbGciOiJkaXIiLCJlbmMiOiJBMTI4Q0JDLUhTMjU2In0..UnnrX6t2Y4VKnqgV7ggj8Q.9SaHEqdGxlzmnLDlKxaZPC1cAYN8Y4arR9U6DSmGKj33GhZvRFqHDgMqZ_810uc7_c6xLtFa5IMyx8xqvDoEB9z0hembBxjm4Vbw7wkWD0hnecryvCnHO3wXcDxJ-yA13_vQxeT8D_ymDk3DTCzUO3OL0vkvarV6g8NYaMLYKo5rHy_cz4CrNKvKpVor3X4ZI4lbUKQwRPIa5Awg_sGXm2bbsgCPn3b11vnGrYXSPhMCgWWqM0OVS2IKExql7jN1efkg3yeMSI0OvOKxlHcICA.Zoi0VYLtbI6F4fHz1wDM6w

it seems to work ok.
