CSVGrab importing other file type?

Andrew,

I came across another issue that I wanted to bring to your attention.  It seems one of my clients was able to import a .xlsx file with CSVGrab. This of course produced much garbage in the entries. I assumed the plugin would die silently if any other file besides a .CSV was imported. Is there a reason this type of file would still be imported?

I’m attempting to limit the file type on the upload to avoid the issue for the future but this is something I thought you should know about.

Thank you,

Chad Boswell

Andrew,

I’m sure you’re busy, but would you be able to respond to my post I submitted back in December? Is there any way of preventing other files like xlsx to import into Expression Engine using CSVGrab?

Thank you,

Chad Boswell

Hi Daniel,

Apologies for not replying sooner. CSVGrab does not do any tests for file type - CSV files can be in a number of formats. I guess it should be possible to ‘bail-out’ if a .xlsx file is tried.
